Heavy Swell Warning Bulletin

Heavy swell warning for Mauritius and Rodrigues issued at 16h15 on Friday 23 May 2025, valid from 16h00 on Saturday 24 till 16h00 on Tuesday 27 May 2025.


High-energy swells are approaching the Mascarenes from the southern sector and will influence the sea state around Mauritius and Rodrigues.


The open sea will become gradually very rough with swells and the waveheight is expected to be 4-6 metres.


The waves will also influence the lagoons of Mauritius and Rodrigues and may break along the low-lying coastal areas to the west and the south especially during high tides.


Fishermen, pleasure-craft users and the public in general are strongly advised not to go out at sea and during high tides,do not to venture along those beaches.


This bulletin may be reviewed upon availability of new information.


High tides for Mauritius:
Saturday: 11h13, 22h55.
Sunday: 12h02, 23h33.
Monday: 12h51.

High tides for Rodrigues:
Saturday: 10h39, 22h55.
Sunday: 11h27, 23h37.
Monday: 12h11.

Heavy swell warning for St-Brandon and Agalega issued at 16h00 on Saturday 24 May 2025

 


For St-Brandon, valid from 12h00 Sunday 25 May 2025 till 16h00 on Tuesday 27 May 2025.

 


For Agalega, valid from 17h00 Sunday 25 May 2025 till 16h00 on Tuesday 27 May 2025.

 


High-energy swells from the southern sector will influence the sea state around St-Brandon as from tomorrow afternoon and for Agalega as from tomorrow evening.


The open sea will become gradually very rough with swells and the waveheight is expected to be of the order of 4 metres.


The waves may break along the beaches especially during high tides.


It is strongly advised not to go out at sea and during high tides, do not to venture along beaches.
